Spring Alpine Intensive is a four day mountaineering course for climbers preparing for Colorado’s spring alpine routes. It focuses on the snow, rock, and decision-making skills needed for couloirs, ridges, and higher mountain objectives.

The curriculum includes basic crampon and ice axe use, self arrest, snow travel, basic rock movement on low 5th class and scrambling terrain, route finding, pacing, and avalanche awareness in spring conditions. Skills are practiced in context so they feel useful outside of class.

This course is a strong foundation for climbers who want to move into bigger Colorado alpine days with better judgment. It helps you understand how timing, conditions, terrain, and movement all connect in the mountains.
