The Advanced Avalanche Course is for experienced backcountry travelers who already have avalanche education and want to improve decision making in complex terrain. It builds on basic skills with deeper field observations and terrain analysis.

The course develops snowpack assessment, weather interpretation, route planning, group communication, rescue response, and structured decision making. The focus is on gathering better information and using it effectively with a team.

This course is a strong fit for skiers, split boarders, and climbers moving into more consequential terrain who may be the go to person among their friends with avalanche knowledge. It helps sharpen judgment before the margin for error gets smaller.
