Garden of the Gods is one of Colorado's premier rock climbing destinations. With soaring red sandstone spires set against the backdrop of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs it is a scenic climbing spot for beginners and more advanced climbers. As the only certified guides permitted for the park, we offer exclusive access to this National Natural Landmark for climbers of every skill level.
The sandstone routes here are ideal for beginner rock climbing in Colorado. Our guides specialize in introducing new climbers to the sport in one of the most stunning settings in the country. More experienced climbers will find plenty of challenges in the technical crack systems, exposed towers, and multi-pitch routes the park is known for. Peregrine falcons, mule deer, and sweeping Front Range views make every climb memorable.
Garden of the Gods is climbable nearly year-round as long as it’s dry. Fall brings the best conditions, but Colorado Springs' mild winters mean you can often pair a morning of rock climbing with an afternoon of ice climbing in nearby North Cheyenne Canyon.
Leave No Trace note: Because Garden of the Gods is soft sandstone there are a couple things we do to help preserve the area. If there is significant precipitation we may have to wait 24-48 hours or more to avoid damaging the rock. Climbing chalk is also not allowed in Garden of the Gods and during the raptor nesting period certain walls are closed to climbing.
