Who is the Multipitch Skills Class for?
This class is for climbers who are comfortable on single pitch routes and want to learn the systems needed for longer climbs. It is a good fit if you want to improve belay transitions, rappels, rope management, communication, and efficiency before getting on multi pitch terrain.
Do I need to know how to lead climb?
Lead climbing experience is helpful but not always required. The class can be customized around your current ability, whether you are preparing to follow multi pitch routes, swing leads with a partner, or clean up your systems before bigger climbs.
What skills will we practice?
Common topics include anchor organization, belay transitions, stance management, rope stacking, rappel setup, communication, route strategy, and keeping the team moving efficiently. Guides can also focus on specific skills you want to improve.
Will we climb an actual multi pitch route?
Possibly. If the venue, conditions, and participant readiness make sense, guides may use real terrain to apply the systems. If not, the day can be taught on accessible single pitch terrain with realistic practice scenarios.
How should I prepare?
Bring any personal climbing gear you normally use, especially helmet, harness, shoes, belay device, and personal anchor tools if you have them. Come ready to practice systems repeatedly rather than just climb pitches.
