Garden of the Gods rises above Colorado Springs in a dramatic collection of red sandstone towers, fins, and walls that have defined the city's skyline, and its climbing, for generations. The Garden Summit Tour takes you beyond the walking paths and viewpoints and onto the formations themselves, climbing routes that reach the summits of some of the park's most recognizable features. It's a perspective on Garden of the Gods that most visitors never get to experience.
The climbing here is adventurous and committing with bold sandstone routes that reward experience and preparation in equal measure. With vast knowledge of the parks climbing guides will match the day's objectives to your experience and goals, making sure the tour covers the best and most iconic summits the park has to offer while managing the more adventurous aspects of the climbing safely and confidently. Often we climb classic routes like New Era, West Point Crack, and the North Ridge of Montezuma's Tower but there are other classic formations and routes we can use to ensure the best experience for a variety of skill levels.
Garden of the Gods sits at the foot of Pikes Peak just minutes from downtown Colorado Springs, making logistics straightforward and leaving plenty of options for exploring the broader park before or after your climb. It's one of those rare climbing destinations where the scenery is as memorable as the climbing itself and a summit tour delivers both in equal measure.
Leave No Trace note: Because Garden of the Gods is soft sandstone there are a couple things we do to help preserve the area. If there is significant precipitation we may have to wait 24-48 hours or more to avoid damaging the rock. Climbing chalk is also not allowed in Garden of the Gods and during the raptor nesting period certain walls are closed to climbing.
