Climbing in Boulder Canyon

Boulder Canyon is a granite climbing area just outside the city of Boulder, less than an hour from Denver. This Front Range climbing area hosts a variety of climbs for beginners and experts alike and is a frequent favorite of locals for a few after work climbs. While many consider Boulder to be the epicenter of Colorado climbing generally Boulder Canyon gets overshadowed by some of it's better known neighbors. This makes for an excellent place to climb if you want to avoid the crowds and also for those wanting easier hikes to the climbing with some of the climbs being a few feet from the car. With the river running through the canyon summer mornings can be pleasant and the spring and fall can be a phenomenal time to climb. The stellar quality of the granite makes for enjoyable friction to help beginners learn to climb all the domes and cracks Boulder Canyon has to offer.
