"Sarah and I had an awesome time. We were both impressed by and appreciated the fact that you actually taught us some of the finer points of climbing, rather than just setting a rope and saying "there you go." -Mike, Wisconsin

Introduction to Climbing Class
Climbing outside is the pinnacle of excitement and everyone has to start somewhere. Whether you are new to climbing or perhaps have some indoor experience this course will give you the skills to confidently offer belays, tie yourself in, and know what is happening when you climb outside with others. Because climbing skills build on one another this is an important first step for anyone who wants to advance in climbing because learning safe habits in the beginning ensures that you progress more quickly as a climber and have the most up to date techniques and safety advice.

Through this two day climbing course participants will learn the different styles of climbing, how to get up and down safely, how to use the gear, what basic anchor set ups look like, and some technique to help them climb better. Because climbing is a learning process that builds upon itself participants will also learn the skills to prepare them for our Learn to Lead course.
